Urkuyö ja Aaria’s Christmas Concert 2025 brings together three brilliant musicians – tenor Tuomas Katajala, pianist and composer Jukka Nykänen, and versatile instrumentalist Marko Portin – to celebrate the spirit of Christmas through melodies from around the world and the freedom of improvisation.

The concert takes the listener on a journey through the soundscapes of the season, from German tradition to French devotion and the warmth of an English Christmas. The programme features beloved classics such as Es ist ein Ros entsprungen, Panis angelicus, and O Tannenbaum, alongside surprises and spontaneous improvisations where Jukka Nykänen’s virtuosic pianism and Marko Portin’s multi-instrumental artistry (clarinet, saxophone, flute) meet in playful and profound harmony.

The evening culminates in sing-alongs and Adolphe Adam’s beloved O Holy Night, where all the colours of the concert – reverence, joy, and international connection – merge into one.

Welcome to tune into the spirit of Christmas, in the light and warmth of music.

Duration approx. 70 minutes, no intermission.
